Father's Day Present

This was Luke's Father's Day present to himself:
Yes, after years of trying to convince me that he needed one, Luke finally found a really good deal on a competitive size smoker. The only catch- it was in Oklahoma City.
So while I was gone with Blake over Memorial weekend, Luke, his dad, and Jacob took a road trip to Oklahoma City to finally pick up the smoker. Luckily they went on the right weekend, because the weekend before and after he went there were huge tornadoes that hit through Oklahoma City, so I'm just glad they made it there and back safely.  And Jacob did awesome for them on the 10 hour drive.

After they picked up the smoker, they went camping for the night just north of Oklahoma City.
Jacob loved wearing this light on his head all night and was so excited to roast marshmallows. He also got a new sleeping bag, so he was very excited for the camping experience and had a fun time with his dad and grandpa.

They got the smoker home safely and put it right to use on Memorial Day. Luke had friends bring him meat and he smoked up for everyone. All the neighbors on the street were wanting to take a look at the new smoker and what smelled so good.
So for Father's Day I had an apron made for Luke so that he could barbecue without ruining all his clothes. "Pig Out" is what Luke has been saying he'd like on the tags for the smoker, and possibly a business name in the future. Unfortunately, the apron came out a bit small, so Jacob can use it for now and be daddy's little barbecue helper.
Luke already has himself several parties lined up this summer where he'll get a lot of use out of his smoker. So, Happy Father's Day Luke!
Thanks for always being there for us and keeping life interesting! We love you!
