Easter Pictures

Happy Easter! The holidays just keep getting more fun now that Jacob is getting older and gets into the whole thing. He was very excited to wake up on Easter to find his easter basket and kept looking in our backyard to try and spot the Easter Bunny all day- everytime he spotted a squirrel he shouted that he found the Easter Bunny, haha. Jacob also loved dying our eggs, going on two easter egg hunts (one with the ward and one at home), loved seeing his Grandpa coming through Denver twice, and loved all the candy! And I love opportunities to try and get cute pictures of my kids, so here's a bunch documenting the whole weekend!

For Sunday I also made some easter egg basket cupcakes for my girls in primary, I thought they were pretty cute...
Blake also pulled one from off the table when I gave one to Jacob, and he thought they tasted pretty good too!

Jacob found his basket first thing in the morning and got right to work on eating his candy! Also got a new hat and sunglasses for the summer.

Blake found his easter basket! And don't worry, all that candy is for me!

Crawling and more at 9 months

So Blake is now 9 1/2 months and the biggest news for him is that he learned to crawl at 8 1/2 months (I know, this news is a month late). All that weekend he teased us with moving an arm and leg forward and finally after we got home from church on Sunday, March 4, he started crawling around the room. Since then he's been moving all over! This video was taken Monday, March 12- just over a week since he started crawling and I thought it was a cute one of him playing with Jacob, laughing, and getting excited about crawling :)

Since Blake turned 9 months he's also gotten up on his knees a lot by pulling himself up on coffee tables, or even in his crib too! Sometimes he pulls himself all the way up to standing too and he'll also stand holding on at the edge of the stairs and can also climb up just a few stairs before stopping.
Sometimes he'll just stop, turn around, and sit on the bottom stair. I would like him to master stairs quickly like Jacob did, but he really does make me nervous about falling so I may have to give in and get a gate soon!
Now that Blake can move around more he's also started attacking back and trying to take on Jacob. Blake can be a tease and I'm already starting to worry about the kind of toddler he'll be, haha.
And although the boys have their moments of fighting over the same toys or pushing each other around, they still have lots of moments where they play nicely and laugh with each other.
Hiding under the table has become their little clubhouse :)

I did take Blake to the doctor this month and he was 17 lbs 1.5 oz (although it was first thing in the morning before he ate, so I think it's a little off) and came in at 27 inches tall. The doctor said he was at low percentage for both, but quite frankly I think they are wrong and their scale is off! His naps have gotten better but it seems he's already gotten down to one nap a day, and still seems to wake up once at night(like around 5am). He enjoys eating babyfood but hasn't quite taken to table foods yet, with the exception of Cheerios, which he loves. He hates getting diaper changes, but not more than I hate changing him because he won't keep his hands out of the way! But Blake is typically a happy baby and gives big flirty smiles to everyone in public. And if I got a dollar for everytime someone commented on what a beautiful girl Blake is... I'd have a lot of cash. Not sure how I feel about that, but I guess he's my pretty boy. And I do love his sweet smile- which also accumulated 2 more teeth on the top at 8 months too- putting him at 6 teeth now.

Ahh, I love this picture of Blake, and I love my sweet boy. He is literally growing so quickly and I can't believe he'll already be a year old in 2 1/2 months!
