Blake's 2nd Birthday!

Blake had a great 2nd Birthday! Jacob had preschool that morning so I got to spend some time just with Blake, so after running some last minute errands, I took Blake to McDonalds to get a little treat.
Then I took the boys to the park to play for a bit.
Then we came home for lunch and the boys played with some birthday balloons. They were giggling and wrestling over the balloons being too cute.
Blake was so cute and happy all day, I kept wanting to try and take more pictures of him.
Blake took a nap but by the time he woke up, Jacob had magically fallen asleep on the couch, so we went and played outside together.
We went for a little walk up and down the street, and then he got to ride on Jacob's bike for awhile, completely uninterrupted.
Once Jacob woke up, we all had popsicles together. I didn't even realize until I looked at my pictures that in one of them Blake gave me a kiss, which usually never happens unless I ask for one, haha. I hope that means he was having a really great birthday!
Finally, Luke came home and brought a pizza for dinner! One of the few meals Blake will eat, yum!
Finally it was time for presents! Jacob was way more anxious than Blake, so we let him help a lot.
Blake only got a few presents, and they were mostly all Thomas the Train toys, but he loved them and just wanted to play right away.
He also got a cool rocket shooter from my mom that the boys have had a lot of fun playing with.
Time for cake! Blake was so cute trying to blow out his candles, but I think Jacob had to help him in the end. Haha I'm pretty sure Jacob just wanted to pretend it was his birthday anyway. But Blake had a great day and it seemed that he knew it was his special day. We're glad he's finally two!
A little more about Blake:
*Blake can be the sweetest most obedient little boy. He's always saying, "Ok mom" "Sorry mom" "It's ok mom".
*He also good at showing he cares. If I cough he'll say, "You sick mom?", or "Jacob's sad", and he gives us all the best big hugs and kisses!
*When he wants to he is awesome at cleaning up and can be a big help!
*Seems to always get his way, he is very persistent about what he wants and when he wants it! This sometimes causes contention over toys with Jacob ;)
*He's also manipulative in getting what he wants by suggesting something, I'll ask to clarify what he said, and then he'll say "Ok mom!" as if it was my idea all along, even if I have no intention of giving him what he's suggested. It's actually pretty clever, haha.
*Awesome at taking naps- they're turning into over 4 hours every day! Has started to going to bed a little later since the sun sets so late, but at least he'll sleep in late too.
*Loves his cereal every morning. Peanut butter sandwich for lunch. Yogurt for snack after nap. He doesn't sway on this. For dinner he likes mac and cheese, pizza, rice, spaghetti, or anything unhealthy.
*Blake likes to be around other kids and to play, including Nursery at church, but sometimes will get aggressive with other kids, working on that.
*Blake loves to chase and hug little doggies. Usually he ends up scaring the dogs away, ha.
*Blake likes to try to keep up with his older brother, do whatever he's doing. They love to wrestle and play rough together, but they can be sweet together too.
*Loves Thomas the Train and cars, and is probably a little too obsessed watching these shows on tv. Likes pretending to talk on the phone.
*Blake can count 1,2,3,5, and 10. Knows all his body parts.
*He can sing along all the words to several Primary songs while I rock him before bedtime.
*At times he can by whiny and drive me nuts, but his smile, big blue eyes, and cute sweet voice always win me over! The best is when he whispers, "I uv you Mom" :)
And we love you Blake! I can't picture our family without you!

A Day in Georgetown

Last weekend we did an early birthday present for Blake. We drove into the mountains to Georgetown and rode on the train! This train ride was an hour ride and a more beautiful view than the "Thomas the Train Ride" we did last year.  Blake is pretty obsessed with his trains so both the boys were very excited to ride a real train and Luke and I enjoyed it too!
Here was the train ringing his bell coming down the bridge to our train station.
The boys had their tickets and were getting excited waiting!
On the train!
Such beautiful scenery in the mountains with the river running through.
Blake loved hearing the train whistle
As it puffed up the hill it had huge funnels of black smoke which was pretty neat.
Halfway through the ride we stopped at the other station and then rode the loop back to our station.
coming back over the tall bridge
It was a great ride and we all had a lot of fun! Not enough that I was willing to pay $20 for this framed picture they took of us before we boarded- so I just took a picture of it instead. Good enough memories for me :)
a couple pics of the birthday boy- glad he had fun!
The boys were hungry once we got done with the train, and luckily we packed a lunch. So we found this awesome park in Georgetown that the boys had a blast playing at, and had a picnic!
Riding the tire swing with my boys! Seriously the park was so cool I just wanted to play with them!
Trying to get Luke to smile- this was the best he'd give me, haha
There's a pretty little lake in Georgetown that we always pass along the highway, so we made a quick stop on our way out to take a look and so Jacob could throw some rocks in, and I could attempt to get a couple more cute pictures of the boys together.
Such cute boys. By the time we got on the road though, they were both out! It was such a beautiful, fun day together, and hopefully it will be a day the boys will remember for awhile!
