Lately...

we've had lots of cute smiles...
we've looked super cute together all ready for church...

we've been very loud...
we've had warm enough days to play in the leaves...

Jacob has been helpful in getting Blake up from his naps...
Jacob has been nice enough (or bored enough) to play with Blake and his toys...
I cooked pumpkin and made it into puree... which then made me several loaves of pumpkin bread (and raisin nut pumpkin bread)...
and had plenty puree left for Blake's first baby food- he loves pumpkin!
We had a visit from great Grandma Martha for a weekend...

Blake mastered sucking his thumb...
and got his first two teeth!
We had a beautiful day at the zoo with some friends...
we've played with all our cars...
we've gotten clean from our baths...
and all while looking super cute!
Which brings us back to lots of smiles!

Happy Halloween

This year I had the hardest time trying to decide what to have the boys do for Halloween and I put it off until the last week to try and decide.
Blake ended up being easy though because he could fit into the costume I made for Jacob's first Halloween- a little turtle! Who do you think wore it best?

Jacob at 6 1/2 months in the first two above, and Blake at 4 1/2 months below

Oh and Jacob wearing the shell again- getting jealous he wanted to try it on too and try crawling around like a turtle, haha.
But since I didn't have a lot of time to get a costume together for Jacob I decided it would be easier to just buy him one this year- so we picked a Buzz Lightyear costume! He was pretty excited about it, although it's not the most original for boys his age. At the ward Halloween party I think I saw about 4 Buzz Lightyears...
I'm not sure what Jacob thought of that, but all I kept noticing were how much cooler the other Buzz Lightyear costumes were! And to go along with Jacob's costume, Luke and I casually dressed as Woody and Jessie, which Jacob thought was a lot of fun even though we really didn't look like them at all.

All week I had been preparing Jacob for trick or treating and trying to explain how if he says trick or treat when we knock on someones door, they'll put candy in his bucket. And since he saw me buy our Halloween candy, all week at home Jacob kept stealing my candy, putting it in his Halloween bucket, and then running to show me and would squeal "Trick or treat! I did it!" So he was a little confused, but it was pretty cute. So he got his first taste of trick or treating at the ward party and that was fun, just real congested with all the other kids in the church.
So Halloween night Jacob went trick or treating with his friends Collin and Natalie. I think he had a lot of fun going with some friends, and so did I!

I was so proud of Jacob walking to each house and it was so cute when they'd all say trick or treat! He got the hang of it quick and had a lot of fun! And he got a lot of good candy too!
And this was only the first half! On the drive home Jacob still wanted to go trick or treating but I needed to get Blake home, so I dropped him off at our neighbors the Loughes, and they were sooo nice to take him trick or treating around our neighborhood and back to my house. So Jacob ended up with a lot of candy! I'm not sure which part is his favorite though, the candy or getting to wear his Buzz Lightyear costume- he's worn it these past three days after Halloween too!

And even Blake got to see his little friend Beckett too, so cute! Anyway, Halloween was a lot of fun this year, especially now that Jacob is old enough to understand how it all works and participate in all the fun stuff, but he's still young enough that he doesn't realize I've kept half of his candy for myself! Muhahaha! Happy Halloween! :)
