They also got to visit with Santa at a Christmas work party, but Blake did not go for it. Jacob was excited though and immediately told Santa that he wanted slippers and cars. It was sweet :)
I always try to get a nice picture of the boys in their church clothes but they did not cooperate very well this year, so this was the best I could get of the boys Christmas Sunday.
Luke made fun of me for taking a picture of our food on Christmas Eve, but oh well, it was yummy. We did pork chops on Christmas Eve and chicken on Christmas. Christmas Eve we also had our traditional rice pudding but none of us found the almond in our dishes- my mom said that's never happened so it must mean bad luck for a whole year! Haha I hope not, but it was pretty funny.
Christmas Eve we also read christmas stories and the story from the Bible and had Jacob help us act it out with puppets and our nativity scene. Jacob did a great job retelling the story to Blake and acting it out, it was cute.
The boys also got to open one gift- new Christmas pajamas!
Actually, Santa brought me some too :)
Then right before bedtime, it started to snow- so perfect! Once the boys were asleep, Luke and I watched Christmas movies and Santa was able to quickly get everything done and ready.
Jacob woke us up on Christmas morning but didn't seem to remember that it was a special day. He crawled into our bed and layed with us a little bit then we finally had him look out the window to see all the snow, and finally got him to come look downstairs.
As soon as Jacob saw all the presents under the tree, he froze, dropped everything, and said "Presents!!". Haha Jacob had seemed to forget how it all worked, but he was finally excited!
We let the boys dig through their stockings while Luke made breakfast and then we got into the presents afterwards.
I thought this picture was funny because Blake's face looked just like the dinosaur, haha.
Jacob was most excited about his new set of 12 cars from Cars 2.
I just loved seeing their happy faces throughout the day, it really was just about seeing them happy. Blake didn't care much for opening gifts and the boys mostly wanted to play with what each other had, but they're already getting better at sharing all their new gifts. After we got done opening presents all Jacob wanted to do was go sledding, so we did!
Later we came back and had hot chocolate and enjoyed the rest of the day together at home, watching movies and playing with new toys. The boys each also got those cute Lightning slippers. It was a perfect little Christmas!
