Tyler and Erika Visit Denver

Yay for another family visit! Tyler and Erika have been living in Maryland for the past two years and have decided to move back to Idaho- Boise this time. I'm so happy and excited for them to be back on their own and that Erika has a great job she can take with her while Tyler finishes school in Boise. Anyway, a drive across the country always means a stop in Denver, and I was so glad they got to hang out for a few days, especially with Luke being out of town for work.
They got in on a Monday afternoon and we spent that day just hanging out and playing outside, going on walks. Blake tended to favor Tyler while Jacob adores Erika. On Tuesday, I took them up to our favorite spot in Idaho Springs and we had a little picnic at the park by the river.  The boys loved having Erika and Tyler there to play with them!
Blake even found a school bus and was so persistent that the driver let him get on and play in the driver seat! Haha, of course then he never wanted to get off!
Then we played by the river while the boys threw rocks in, and we even got to see lots of rafters float by. It reminded me of when we went rafting together last summer at Deep Creek.
The boys kept laughing at Tyler throwing huge rocks into the lake :)
The boys probably would have stayed forever but we finally got them back in the car and I took them for a beautiful drive up Mt. Evans. We didn't go all the way to the top, but a little ways up is this beautiful lake so we walked and looked around.
It was a beautiful day but just a little cooler breeze in the mountains. Enough that Blake insisted carrying his blanket around him haha, and enough that Erika and Tyler kept commenting on how different the weather was here than the humid, bug-infested east.
By the time we got home we were all tired, I made dinner, and we stayed up to watch a movie together once the kids went to bed. On Wednesday we went to the City Pool and had such a fun time! I even got to go on the water slides for the first time! We all took turns and also spent a lot of time floating in the lazy river :)
We stayed at the pool for about 2.5 hours which was a record for us! Afterwards we even headed to the park, it was a fun day!
That night the boys had to say goodbye since Tyler and Erika would be leaving early the next morning. The boys were both really sad to see them go!
With their car packed full, they were off the next morning! I was really sad to see them go too! But I was glad we were able to spend time together and so glad they'll at least be living in my time zone now! Good luck in Boise Tyler and Erika- and come back and visit soon!
