Jacob's busy April!

April was so busy this year! First off, we had Jacob signed up for swimming lessons twice every week. Jacob had really nice teacher named Lucy. There were 5 kids in her class and she took turns with each kid individually. Jacob really liked Lucy, but it took him a little while to get used to everything. Once we gave him goggles, that really helped him get a little more used to going underwater and everything. Jacob seems to take after his mother in being a little nervous about swimming, but he did improve a lot and says he likes swimming so I think we'll let him try it again through the summer.
Jacob also started soccer and we all loved going to his games every Saturday. They do their practice before the games, and I love their little drills, that's probably my favorite part, haha.
Again, Jacob just loved his coach. He was really patient with them and even when Jacob was in La-La Land his coach was really good about it. He always thought Jacob had a good kick and tried to give him lots of opportunities to start the ball.
Jacob usually had a lot more energy during their practices, but by the time the game started he would get tired or too nervous kicking into the other kids. He doesn't like to swarm around the ball like other kids do, he usually just did his own thing, haha.
But that's ok, we loved to cheer him on- Blake included.

His coach was really nice to give them all a little medal at the last game, Jacob loves it. We're proud of him trying something new and doing his best, and plan to continue this again in the summer!
With all the extra activities, and preschool twice a week it was a busy month for Jacob! Preschool officially ended the school year this week, though I think I'll let him go one more month in June just so he doesn't get too bored. On their last day though, they sang us parents some songs and got a little treat from their teachers. We loved Beth and Jenn and I'm glad Jacob had such a fun year with them and made good friends too.
Jacob and his best friend Ava were so funny during their performances because they weren't really singing along, but just doing their own thing being silly. He kept petting her hair or putting his arm around her, it was cute. They're a perfect little match.
Blake was really wiggly through the whole performance and just wanted to be with the big kids, so as soon as it was over, Blake ran up and gave Jacob a big hug- it was so sweet.
The kids all got these cute graduation balloons. Jacob was "whoo-ing" just like the owl.
Jacob with Ava. We are sure going to miss seeing her every week! Hoping to stay in touch!
The kids also got kool-aid and crazy straws from their teachers so they stay "kool and crazy" all summer! Will do! I love having Jacob signed up for things that he enjoys doing and things to keep him busy, and I'm sure summer is going to fly by as well!
