Looks like I've really been slacking on my blog. Well, if anyone is still reading this, here is how October went for us. First off, was the traditional pumpkin patch. I'll admit the pumpkins weren't great this year but they love walking around the patches and all the fun kid stuff at the end.
Then later came the pumpkin carving, and Luke was nice enough to let Jacob draw his own face, and cut it out, even though it looked a little silly haha. You can see though it has two eyes on the top, a big nose with ears on the side of it, and a funny mouth with teeth and a mustache.
We also attended our Ward Halloween activity where the boys got to first dress up in their costumes. Jacob was happy to be Buzz Lightyear again, and Blake was the Toy Story alien.
I did make the hat myself, and although not everyone could tell what he was, I thought it was good enough and Blake kept saying "hat" so I think he liked it too :)
The Primary kids also got a visit from the Great Pumpkin who gave all the kids a bag of candy, so Jacob was pretty excited.
Halloween Day was actually gorgeous so the boys were able to play outside and help me rake the leaves.
Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!
That night I took Jacob out trick or treating while Luke passed out candy with Blake.
One neighbor had a haunted garage, and we were able to see lots of friends and neighbors throughout the night.
Eventually Jacob's basket was just too heavy to go on so we made our way back and we all enjoyed Jacob's hard work. Jacob was so cute, this year when he went to doors he often said, "Trick or treating!"
And here's a couple random cute ones of the kids throughout the last month:
Boys playing the xylophone at the library
Blake lounging while watching Sponge Bob- his new favorite show haha. Grandma Martha also came to visit for a day early in the month and the boys had a great time playing with her.
We also got some snow before Halloween, which Jacob loved to play in. Here though he was ready to go to preschool and he still loves going there and has made some good friends too.
In early November Jacob went to his best bud Levi's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and had a lot of fun.
The boys looking cute before church one Sunday, and playing horse with Daddy.
Jacob and Blake also both had their first dentist appointments one week after Halloween. I figured it was about time they got their teeth cleaned with all the candy they'd been eating and it was about time Jacob had a visit. He actually did awesome and didn't even have me by his side, through x-rays, cleanings and all. He got lots of little prizes and he didn't want to leave! Blake also did a quick little visit on my lap and got brushed, and though he didn't like it as much he loved the office, so it was a success!
And Jacob's new pal is the Loughe's dog Cocoa. We are still adjusting over the devastation of them moving to Seattle soon, but while they do house showings the boys have loved watching and playing with the dog. Poor Jacob thinks Cocoa is his and not only is he going to be real sad when the our favorite friends move away from us, but Jacob is never getting a dog as long as he's living in my house, haha.
This last weekend we also had Luke's parents come into town so one morning we went up to Idaho Springs, about an hour away just into the mountains to have a little picnic and play at the park by the river. We love to do this every fall, and though it was a little later in the season this year, it was a beautiful day.
It's been a great Fall so far and are ready for the holidays ahead!
